A product can lead to a Page, a review form or another website. This page explains the controls around those destinations and the information they collect.
Our expanded link checks and review tools are being prepared for release. We have not completed their hosted verification. Check with us about availability before relying on them for your business.
Check the destination printed or configured for your product. Older products may open an external website directly. A directly programmed tag cannot be suspended through Tappin’.
A tag or printed QR can be physically covered or replaced. Inspect products in public places and test both destinations regularly.
Background checks will use Google Web Risk’s Update API. A new or changed destination may be published before its background check finishes.
“Link checked” means the current destination completed its checks without a known threat match at the time shown. “Form reviewed” means a person reviewed that version of the questions. Neither badge verifies a business, guarantees a transaction or confirms every claim on a Page.
Protection is not perfect. Some risky sites may not be identified, and some safe sites may be identified in error. Google Web Risk advisory.
Use Tappin’ forms for contact details and ordinary business inquiries. Do not request passwords, OTPs, PINs, payment-card credentials, government identifiers or sensitive medical information. Do not submit those details to a form, even if it displays a review badge.
System administrators and infrastructure operators have separate privileges needed to run the service. See our privacy policy for how customer information is handled.
Approved-domain policies and product destination permissions are part of the upcoming company safety controls.
Product counts measure taps, QR scans and external continuations. They are not counts of unique people. Product activity records do not require visitor names or persistent visitor identifiers. Hosting providers may process ordinary request and security logs.
Report a Page, form, link or product. You do not need an account. We use reports to investigate misuse; a report alone does not remove content. Owners can request another review through Safety in their account.
